ROSTEC HAS CREATED A MATERIAL FOR AUTOMATIC WELDING INSTEAD OF FOREIGH ANALOGUES
Products for Russian enterprises are produced by the Ural Research Chemical Institute
Rostec has developed and launched production of CERASHIELD-BN non-stick material, which is used in automatic welding at large enterprises and was previously supplied from abroad. The output of products has been established on the basis of the Ural Research Chemical Institute (UNIKHIM, part of the holding managed by ONPP Tekhnologiya named after A.G. Romashin), whose capacity is sufficient to completely meet the needs of Russian enterprises in such products.
The material was developed at the request of enterprises that faced the issue of import substitution of products of foreign companies and is an aerosol ceramic coating of increased durability based on boron nitride. Thanks to it, the workplace and equipment do not need to be cleaned from splashes and scale, which reduces downtime and significantly increases productivity.
“CERASHIELD-BN is in no way inferior to foreign analogues, while being cheaper and more economical. At the moment, this is the only Russian non-stick material that can be used in large enterprises. It can be used in the automotive and aviation industries, shipbuilding, at any enterprise where automatic welding is used, and there are more than 1,600 of them in Russia. At the moment, production volumes are 20 thousand cylinders per month and can be significantly increased,” said Ilya Romanov, Development Director, UNIKHIM
The Ural Chemical Institute has extensive experience in the development and production of protective, separating and refractory materials with improved properties based on oxygen-free boron compounds. They have wear resistance, heat resistance and are used in the aerospace industry, metallurgy and other industries.
